ITRA is excited to announce a new way to play social tag in Autumn 2024 - with an emphasis on fun, meeting new people, guaranteed games, and having the craic afterwards! Tag Rugby is known for its welcoming and inclusive community. It's a great way to make new friends and enjoy a supportive team environment - and that's what we want from this!
This Autumn you can play tag purely for the craic at Irishtown Stadium, located just outside of the city centre close to public transport links. The venue boasts a modern 4G pitch, access to public transport links, loads of parking, and nearby social venues.
Best of all, Irishtown boasts after-work-friendly kick-off times of 18:20 and 19:05 - so no matter what, you'll be done playing before 20:00!
No Experience Needed: whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting, social tag rugby is accessible to everyone. It's easy to learn, with simple rules that ensure a fun experience from day one.
Sign up individually via our website and invite any friends who want to join you. Your registration covers participation for the entire 9-week season and guarantees at least one social, just-for-fun game per week at our city-centre venue.
Here's how it works:
Weekly Schedule:
Monday: We'll do a roll call to see who's available.
Wednesday: Teams will be formed based on availability and we'll let you know what time your games are at on Thursday. Games will be scheduled for either 18:20-19:05 or 19:05-19:50, with the possibility of playing both times depending on numbers.
Thursday: See you in Irishtown Stadium!
Our aim is to mix up the groups each week so you can meet as many people as possible, while still ensuring you get to play with your friends.
Focus on Fun:
No league tables or ongoing scores - we want everyone to relax and enjoy the sessions rather than worrying about winners and results!
Enjoy a fun and inclusive environment where the emphasis is on having a great time.
Post-Game Social:
After the matches, join us for a social activity like a quick drink, a table quiz, or even a sea dip in the warmer months.
