Nestled on Serpentine Avenue in the heart of Ballsbridge, Pembroke Wanderers has long been the go-to venue for corporate tag rugby teams. As we gear up for another exciting season along the DART tracks, we’re thrilled to introduce a fresh approach to corporate tag that’s designed with your team in mind.
Corporate tag has always been about creating a space for workplace teams to connect, compete, and have fun—separate from the seasoned teams who play year-round. This ensures fair play, balanced refereeing, and a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
However, over the years, we’ve noticed a wide variety among corporate teams in terms of experience, team size, and skill level. That’s why we’re evolving how we run our leagues to better cater to the diverse needs of our players.
What’s New?
Our goal is simple: to make tag an inclusive, enjoyable, and accessible sport for everyone, whether your team is brand new to the game or has a few seasoned players. To achieve this, we’re introducing two distinct categories for our 2025 corporate leagues:
Corporate Tag (Social)
For teams with some experience looking for a traditional league experience.
If your team has a few players who’ve dabbled in tag before and you’re looking for a structured, fun competition, this is the league for you. Each week, you’ll face off against a team at a similar level, and your results will feed into a league table.
Here’s what to expect:
Weekly games against evenly matched opponents.
A fun, social environment with a bit of friendly competition.
A format designed for teams with enough players to consistently field a side.
When signing up on our website, you’ll first be placed on a waiting list. Don’t worry—this allows us to chat with you, confirm your team’s fit for this category, and ensure you get the best experience possible.
Corporate Tag (Novice)
For teams with little to no tag experience, focused on learning and having fun.
If your team is new to tag or sports in general, this category is perfect. We’ll group you with similarly inexperienced teams, with an emphasis on learning the game, having fun, and building confidence.
Here’s what to expect:
Flexible formats tailored to your team’s needs.
Weekly games in a welcoming environment, with minimal pressure to perform.
Opportunities to play against other novice teams for a supportive, inclusive experience. If only 5 people from your team can make it, they'll get a game!
This league is ideal for teams who see tag as a fun, mixed-gender, outdoor team-building activity rather than a competition. We’ve successfully tested this approach with individual players during our winter leagues, and the feedback has been fantastic.
