The Irish Tag Rugby Association is delighted to launch our events calendar for 2025. It features some staples, some new ideas, and new venues - but with the same emphasis on enjoying yourself!
15th March - Super Saturday 2025
"Super Saturday" takes place on Saturday 15th March, the morning of the final day of the Men's Six Nations.
The idea is simple: sign up as an individual, get drafted onto a team representing one of the Six Nations teams, and play 5 x 20-min games in consecutive rounds just like the Six Nations. The tournament ends in time to get showered and into the club bar to watch the three games taking place that day.
17th May - State of Origin - Portlaoise RFC
State of Origin is back for 2025, offering tag players from all over Ireland to pick a side and battle out Ireland's oldest rugby rivalry. Sign up for a Leinster or Munster team at your level and earn points towards your side's overall tally. With overall wins tied and 1-1 following Munster's triumphant 2024 win, which province will take the overall win? Registration opens February 2025.
6th June - ITRA Corporate Cup - Wanderers FC
The annual corporate cup takes place in Wanderers FC on the Merrion Road, with a bar on-site and close to public transport. It's a one-day competition for teams who work together, and a popular way to socialise together outside of the office.
14th June - Pig N' Porter - Old Crescent RFC
The best tag festival in Ireland takes place in Limerick on the weekend of Saturday 14th June. More than just a tournament, Pig N Porter offers entertainment, food, and that irreplaceable mid-summer weekend away feeling.
28th June - National Tag Championships - Portlaoise RFC
"Nationals" is Ireland's top domestic tag competition, contested by teams representing Ireland's tag regions across a number of categories. It's a trial for our international sides and confers the coveted title of "National Champions".
12th July - Dublin Tag Festival
Our 25th Birthday Summer will feature a few celebrations, and you can count on Dublin Tag Fest being one of them! The tournament takes place in Terenure once again, with a bar on site and plenty of craic to be had.
Registration Opens Monday 20th January.
9th August - County Championships - UCD
And now for something a little bit different! Tag Nationals provides an opportunity for elite tag players to pull on a county jersey - but it's not always theirs. If you're from Mayo but play in Dublin, then your only option at the moment is to play for Dublin.
That is, until now! This August, we'll find out which county is really the best at tag. Full event, kit, and registration details in February 2025.
