PLAY TAG RUGBY
What is tag rugby?
Tag is a brilliant Mixed Social Sport, suitable for all shapes, sizes, ages and sporting abilities, where guys and girls play together in a competitive environment.

Tag Rugby is a minimal contact team game in which each player wears shorts with velcro patches with two tags attached to them. The mode of play is similar to Rugby League or Touch Rugby with attacking players attempting to dodge, evade and pass a rugby ball while defenders attempt to prevent them scoring by "tagging" - pulling a velcro attached tag from the ball carrier.
Seven players in each team are allowed on the field at a time, whilst the field dimensions are 70m by 50m. The attacking team has six plays or tags to try to score a try or take the ball down field as close to the line as possible. Tries are worth one point and there are no conversions. In mixed Tag Rugby, female tries are worth three points.
How do I get started?
Tag requires no experience to get started and is played by people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. You simply need to enter a team into one of our leagues, or join one as an individual!

Most of our events are 6-, 8-, or 9-week leagues, which involve playing fun, social games against another team, with a referee. For beginner leagues our referees help with an introduction to the rules, guiding players around the pitch and ensuring the tone stays fun!
How many players do I need?
If you're looking to enter your own team of friends, colleagues, former team-mates in another code, or whoever you like, a typical social league should have 12-14 players signed up.

As you want to have 7 players on the pitch at all times, plus subs, ideally you'd have 10-12 players available every week. Accounting for holidays, concerts, and general unavailability you'd want to have a few more people available every week.
How do I register?
We run tag rugby leagues all year round in Dublin & Limerick, and in the warm, bright months in Galway & Naas.
